Ash Wednesday – February 14th, 2024 – 6:30pm. Begin your Lenten journey in worship, prayer, music, and the symbolic act of receiving ashes. On this evening, we are reminded of the fragility of life and our call to live life fully and abundantly.

To join us for in-person worship, access the Chapel at 2700 W. 14th Street (on the campus of the San Sofia Apartments). Buzz Zion Church from the Directory at the front of the 2700 Building. To enter the gated parking lot, upon arrival call Bob at 216.375.5323 and wait until you are buzzed in. Drive around the buildings to the parking lot and use the accessible ramp from the end of the parking lot to the Chapel.

If you are joining us Zoom, let Pastor Scott know if you need a packet of ashes – or take a bit of soil from outdoors and place it in a bowl.

The bulletin is attached in PDF form. You may use it to follow along with us in the service – or as a devotional.

Our Lenten devotional booklet is available through the church office. It is Free of Charge – a gift from Pastor Scott & Bob.

Rest and Resilience
Following the Way of Jesus through Lent

A daily devotional spanning Ash Wednesday through Easter guides readers through Lent with weekly themes of retreat, prayer, honest, compassion, creativity, and community

When Jesus was preparing for a new phase of his ministry — or experiencing the final week — he went to Bethany, his holy retreat. Following that tradition, The Bethany Fellowships, a ministry of support for young clergy and congregations, have cultivated an intentional rhythm of life and ministry that empowers community, creativity, prayer, and resilience. This six-week-long Lenten daily devotional follows practices and relationships Jesus models for us throughout his ministry, bringing us to the biblical town of Bethany to encourage retreat, prayer, honesty, compassion, creativity, and community. The diverse contributor based is comprised of ordained ministers in a variety of denominations and ministry settings, many of whom are in their first few years of congregational leadership.

We look forward to welcoming you to this meaningful service that opens the door to our Lenten journey.

Lenten Blessing,
Pastor Scott Rosenstein
